Nucleic Acid QC with the Agilent Bioanalyser

We have two Agilent BioAnalysers for quantity assessment of RNAs and also for Illumina NGS libraries. We hold kits in stock for you to use for the common applications and you need to sign-out each chip you use. There is a lot of experience in the core using this instrument so if you’d like some help just ask.

Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction

We have two Qiacubes for nucleic acid extraction, which automate sample preparation using Qiagen spin-column kits. Before using the Qiacube it is very important to note that each protocol requires the use of different tube types for sample processing and collection, see below for details.

Purchase your own reagents:

RNA: We recommend either miRNAeasy or All-Prep for extraction as either will allow analysis of both microRNAs (small RNA species) and mRNAs (large RNA species).

DNA: We recommend DNAeasy blood and QIAamp circulating nucleic acid kits for ctDNA.
